Topic: Excellence Over Comparison
Scripture:
Galatians 1:10 – “For do I now persuade men, or God? … for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”
2 Corinthians 10:12 – “…comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.”
Sermon:
– Beloved, comparison is a sneaky thief that steals joy, weakens purpose, and shifts our focus from God to people.
– Apostle Paul makes it clear: our assignment is not to impress men, but to please God.
– When you compare yourself with others, you begin to measure success by applause instead of obedience.
– God does not grade us by popularity, visibility, or speed—He measures faithfulness.
– Excellence is not competing with another man’s race; it is completing your God-given assignment with diligence and integrity.
– Stay in your lane. Run your race. Serve God wholeheartedly, and let Him handle the results.
Prayer:
1. Father, deliver me from the trap of comparison.
2. Help me to focus on pleasing You alone and to walk in excellence in my calling, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
