ONE MINUTE DAILY SERMON
With Rev. Rotimi Mebuyaku
PROBLEMS ARE PART OF LIFE, NOT PROOF OF FAILURE
Scripture:
John 16:33 – “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Teaching
Problems have no tribe, no religion, no status. They visit everyone. Trouble is not a sign that your life is off track — it’s a sign that you are living in a world where challenges are normal.
Joseph had dreams from God, yet he still faced betrayal, slavery, and prison. His problems were not proof of God’s absence — they were part of the journey to purpose.
• What happens to you is an event and not your identity.
• We are not defined by our problem but by what we become through it.
• Some of the biggest enterprises and born out of one problem or the other
The Turning Point:
The first step to overcoming a problem is refusing to personalize it as your identity.
Instead of:
“Why does this always happen to me?”
Say:
“This is a situation I am facing, not a definition of who I am.”
Perspective is the doorway to progress. Change your view of issues from being negative to being positive.
Reflection:
Have you been treating a temporary situation as a permanent identity? Think again!
Prayer:
Lord, help me see my problems as situations I walk through, not labels I must wear. Amen.
